A Word from Tamika

Y’all, I really did it—I found my way into another country. And if you know me, you know this: when I say I’m going to do something, I do it. Even if I’m scared. Even if it takes longer than I planned. Even if it doesn’t look exactly how I pictured it. I’ll still step out and try, because why not?

Here’s the truth—every breath we take, every time we wake up, tomorrow isn’t promised. All we’ve got is today. So the way I see it, the choices I make today have to be steps that lead me closer to what I want for tomorrow. That’s why I call myself an active dreamer. When I say I dream out loud, it’s not just a cute saying or something I’d slap on a t-shirt. It’s my daily scripture, my mantra, my law. I refuse to spend the rest of my days wondering what if. I’d rather try, fail, adjust, and try again than sit around hoping for a life I never moved toward.

Yes, life throws curveballs—people, situations, circumstances will all test you. But how you react? That’s always on you. So as I continue this journey abroad, soaking up new spaces and new experiences, I want to challenge you: don’t just watch my journey for inspiration. Use it as fuel to tap into something you want for yourself.
